Gophers in the NFL: De’Vondre Campbell has bounce-back game for Cardinals

After a season-low one-tackle game in Week 11, Arizona Cardinals linebacker De’Vondre Campbell rebounded with six tackles, two for lost yards, a sack and a quarterback hit against the Patriots. The fifth-year veteran had a tackle for loss and sack on consecutive plays in the loss to New England.
Two fellow former U defenders had only one tackle Sunday, but it was progress for the Giants’ Carter Coughlin and the Jets’ Blake Cashman in Week 12 games.
Coughlin’s 19 defensive snaps were a season high, and he was disruptive in a familiar spot at defensive end.

Cashman, who started the season opener at linebacker, played for the first time since Week 7 and only saw the field on special teams.
Former U star Rodney Smith continues to work into the running-back rotation with the Panthers. He had seven rushes for 18 yards against the Vikings.
Linebacker Kamal Martin started for the Packers and had three tackles against the Bears on Sunday night but played only nine defensive snaps due to an injury.
Buccaneers safety Antoine Winfield Jr., had eight tackles but Tampa Bay had trouble slowing down the Chiefs passing game. Tampa Bay receiver Tyler Johnson was in the starting lineup and had one target, a play on which Johnson wanted a defensive pass interference penalty but didn’t get it. He had zero receptions in only five snaps.
Elsewhere, Chiefs linebacker Damien Wilson had three tackles against the Bucs; Texans safety Eric Murray had three tackles against the Lions on Thanksgiving Day; and Cardinals tight end Maxx Williams had two receptions for 10 yards against New England.
