Sunday coronavirus update: 32 new MN deaths, 1,196 new cases

Minnesota’s COVID-19 death toll is up to 6,095 with 32 additional deaths reported Sunday, according to the Minnesota Department of Health.
The agency reported another 1,196 confirmed coronavirus infections, taking Minnesota’s case total to 454,989.
The actual number of infections likely is much higher, as the data only represents those who have been tested for the virus, state officials say.
The total number tested for the virus as of Sunday was 3,206,509.
Sunday’s reported deaths included individuals ranging in age from 35-39-years-old (one) to 90-94-years-old (four).
Twenty-two of the 32 new deaths were from a long-term care or assisted-living facility. Of the state’s 6,095 total deaths, 3,875 were long-term care or assisted living center residents.
HOW ARE PATIENTS DOING?
There were 437,827 patients as of Sunday who have recovered to the point where they no longer need to be isolated.
A total of 23,884 patients with COVID-19 have been hospitalized in Minnesota, with 4,965 of those having had to be admitted into the ICU.
WHO IS GETTING SICK?
The age group with the most infections remains 20-24-year-olds with 45,758 cases, closing followed by 25-29-year-olds with 40,838 cases.
The age group with the most deaths are 85-89-year-olds with 1,163 deaths, closely followed by 80-84-year-olds with 999 deaths and 90-94-year-olds with 991 deaths.
