Man shot while robbing Brinks truck in North Miami Beach, flees with $20K

Federal authorities are investigating after, police said, a man was shot while robbing a Brinks truck in North Miami Beach but was still able to flee the scene with about $20,000 in cash.7Skyforce HD hovered above the scene of the incident at a shopping plaza near 147th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, just after 5 p.m., Friday.Surveillance video provided by the FBI captured the moment the subject walked up to the armored truck that was parked next to a Wells Fargo ATM.“There was a confrontation,” said FBI Special Agent Mike Leverock.Officials said the robber approached the uniformed driver as he was either loading or unloading the truck.“While he was servicing the ATM, an individual approached him. The individual has something in his hands and demanded money from him,” said Leverock.Investigators said the robber grabbed a cartridge filled with cash, but then the employee appeared to turn the tables.“There were shots fired by the courier,” said Leverock.The surveillance video showed the employee grabbing his gun, pointing it at his assailant and moving closer.
